CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Protesters affiliated with Greenpeace demonstrated in front of the Duke Energy building uptown Saturday.
The group said it wants Duke Energy to stop relying on coal-fired power plants, and instead invest in wind and solar energy.
One protester said demonstrators are tired of rate hikes that help pay for more coal plants.
Saturday's event was peaceful and no one was arrested. Earlier in the week, six protesters were arrested while demonstrating in front of the Duke Energy building as employees arrived for work.
