CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) -- Superstar Whitney Houston will be buried Saturday morning in the same New Jersey church where she first sang as a child.

Since her death, the pop diva's music and movies has been flying off store shelves.

Melanie Peters manages Manifest Discs in South Charlotte.

She said they've barely been able to keep any of Houston's music in stock.

"Suddenly, everyone needs a little Whitney in their life," she said. "There's been a couple days that's all I've done all day is tell people we're out of Whitney."

Wandisa Watson, a long-time fan came looking for Houston's movie, "The Bodyguard", and left empty-handed.

"My first time seeing Whitney in a concert, I was 16 years old," she recalled. "Just to know that she was there. I got to actually see her but not like face-to-face personally, but got to go to her concerts."

Kay Taylor, another mega-fan, never heard Houston in concert, but says the loss is still personal.

"I feel like I lost a best friend," she said. "I never met her but I was in tears, crying. I said, oh Lord, I can't believe she's gone that beautiful voice that she had."

Taylor left Manifest Discs with a copy of "The Preacher's Wife" in hand and says she'll be watching Houston's funeral from home Saturday morning.

"Wish I could be there but I'm there in spirit and heart," she said.

It's the spirit of Whitney along with that powerful instrument she shared so freely with the world that Winifred Pettis prefers to remember.

"If she standing before our maker right now, she can say I left the world something good," he said.

That gift she leaves behind is what Peters says fans are clamoring to find.

"Everybody loves Whitney," she said. "She was America's diva."

Houston's funeral is private, and by invitation only. Kevin Costner, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Elton John and Aretha Franklin are among the celebrities expected to attend.
