Man uses fake identity in attempt to get onto college campuses

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A local community college sent out an alert Thursday after someone tried to use a fake identity to gain access to two campuses.

Both incident happened Thursday on two separate campuses of Central Piedmont Community College.

College spokesman Jeff Lawrence said a man identifying himself as Emmanuel, a mechanical systems vendor or repair person, asked to gain access to service areas at CPCC's Harper and Harris campuses.

In both instances, he was denied access, Lawrence. The man then left without incident.

Campus security immediately sent an alert to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department to warn them to be on the lookout for similar activity.

Anyone who sees similar activity is asked to call Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.
