Cats at rescue shelter need new home

ROCK HILL, SC (WBTV) Dozens of Cats in Rock Hiil have to find a new home in 30 days

The Saint Francis Animal Rescue in Rock Hill has been operating for nine years.

However, Monday a York County judge ruled yesterday the current shelter is unfit for sheltering the cats and must be moved out in 30 days.

Charlene Rodriguez is the shelter's director. She says they are ready to relocate.

"This building has never been ideal we've done the best with it as we could," Charlene said Tuesday. "The county thinks they'll be better off somewhere with more space, better ventilation, and I agree with all that and we're going to do that."

People have adopted most of the cats. Others will go to the rescue's new facility off Porter Road in Rock Hill.
