MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Myrtle Beach Police arrested a
Conway man Thursday night after defrauding a restaurant and allegedly
assaulting the employees.
Officers with the Myrtle Beach Police Department responded
to the Chester Street and 2nd Avenue North intersection Thursday night in
reference to a reported fraud.
According to an incident report, a male wearing a white
shirt and jeans had entered the Noisy Oyster restaurant early that evening and
left before paying for the $46.38 worth of food and drinks he ordered. The
owner of the restaurant, a friend and another employee had followed that male
suspect to the intersection where they met police.
The report states that the male suspect pulled a knife from his
pocket when they approached him. They backed away from him, returning to their
vehicle, when the suspect reportedly stabbed the right rear tire of their car.
A male suspect matching the description given by the three witnesses
was arrested later that evening by officers responding to another fraud call.
Matthew Chad Gresham, 32, of Conway was taken into custody at the Myrtle Beach Jail and has been
charged with:
- Malicious / Malicious Injury To Animals,
Personal Property
- Ordinance / Defrauding A Restaurant
- Ordinance / Disorderly Conduct/ Loud Breaching
