HICKORY, NC (WBTV) - Several ailments can cause lower back pain, but one common source of discomfort is the sacroiliac or SI joint.
The SI joint can be found in the pelvis. It joins the sacrum and ilium bones. There are a variety of treatments and therapies for SI pain and many solutions are non-surgical.
Spine surgeon Dr. Al Geissele shares how can recognize and treat SI pain in this week's Health Connections report. You can watch his report Thursday, February 9th on WBTV News this Morning and again on WBTV News at 5:30 on Thursday.
You can also hear from Dr. Geissele in person at a community lecture. It will take place on February 16th at Bistro 127 in Hickory.
Each week in Health Connections, a medical professional from Frye Regional Medical Center will bring you timely information to help keep you and your family safe.
