RALEIGH, NC (WBTV/WRAL) - A North Carolina woman recently got a scare when someone stole nearly all of her personal photos on Facebook and created a new profile using those images.

WRAL reported that Lydia Lange, 25, was a model and discovered the bogus site under a different name after a long-time fan alerted her.

After hearing about the issue in September, Lange at first was not worried, she told WRAL's Debra Morgan.

Later, Lange saw that 90 percent of the images on the fake site – under the lone name "Jenny" – were from her Facebook page, WRAL reported.

Lange  figured out the "Jenny" person had been swiping Lange's photos for more than a year – at times just minutes after they were posted on her own Facebook profile, the Raleigh TV station reported.

"I felt completely violated," she told WRAL-TV. "It's just a very scary feeling …"

Lange and her family contacted police and sheriffs, but they were told they had no criminal case since no one was trying to steal money or fake the Lange's real identity.

WRAL reported that eventually Lange narrowed down someone she thought it might be and confronted her. After a short while the site was shut down: "Jenny is no more," a message read.

Experts told WRAL that a civil case might have been possible, but their best advice was to limit who sees Facebook photos and to be vigilant.
