CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - There aren't many stickups in SouthPark-- even fewer at 11:30 in the morning.
At the Walgreens on Morrison, with plenty of witnesses in the store, there was a man with a gun who wanted money.
Surveillance video shows a darkly dressed man in a hood, who appeared at the check-out counter with a chrome-plated pistol.
He pointed it at the clerk who looked like she was scared to death.
He demanded cash, but she told him the register was locked. She then said there was another register she could open.
With other customers watching it unfold, he followed her to a register where she opened the cash drawer, and he took a grand total of 50 bucks, then ran out of the store.
He was seen driving away in an older model silver Nissan Sentra with a big UNC Tar heels sticker in the back window.
Across town, at I-77 and Clanton, Detective Marty Cuthbertson says two men broke into-- of all things-- a scuba dive shop.
"They forced entry through the front door, glass, just knocked open the lock."
Surveillance pictures show two men, using a trash can to load up on $1500 of masks, fins, regulators, dive computers-- even tanks-- which are large and heavy to carry out-- and this all happened while the alarm was sounding.
"And looking at them, it doesn't look like they were in a big hurry."
They also weren't overly concerned with the security cameras.
"When they went inside the business, they cut the lights on. Plus, they had their vehicle lights on. You can see lights pointed towards the business, and hopefully that'll help us I-D them."
That same night, roughly a mile away, police believe the same men broke into two businesses on South Boulevard.
