CALDWELL COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - Investigators need the public's help to find two armed robbers. They believe the men may be connected to two separate incidents, one in Hudson and one in Granite Falls.
Before 5 a.m. Saturday, two men with handguns robbed the Dari Freeze restaurant on Main Street in Hudson. They got away with an employee's purse and a cashbox.
No one was hurt.
Then, around 6:30 a.m. Saturday, two men with handguns robbed the Fast Stop on South Main Street in Granite Falls.
A customer, 59, was kicked in the stomach and pistol-whipped. He was taken to the hospital, but is expected to be OK. The clerk was not hurt.
In both cases, the gunmen were described similarly as white men wearing dark-colored hoodies and camouflage pants. The getaway car was described as a white, four-door sedan.
In Granite Falls, the suspect description is more detailed. One man is described as between 5'7" and 5'10" and about 180 pounds with a black mustache and black shoes. The second man is described as 5'10", wearing flip flops.
