CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A flipped vehicle in the median of Interstate 77 near the WT Harris Blvd exit caused 3 lanes of the highway to be closed during rush hour Friday.

Two people were hurt in the incident that appeared to involve two different vehicles.

One patient was taken by Medic to CMC Main and the other patient was taken by Medic to Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, Medic officials said.

Both motorists suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Katie Rutland of Medic told WBTV.

Three lanes of northbound I-77 were closed for about an hour after the wreck happened at 4:35 pm.

Just after 5:45 the lanes were reopened, but traffic was still backed up until about 6:15 pm. By around 6:30 traffic was freely moving in the area.

The location of the lane closures was between Sunset and Harris exits.
