CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - The region is set to be drenched in another eound of rain showers and thunderstorms Thursday and into early Friday morning.
The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg says a cold front will sweep across the region Thursday evening into the overnight hours.
A broad band of showers with embedded thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the front.
The weather service says conditions ahead of the front are ripe for a line of thunderstorms to develop.
The storms could produce damaging wind gusts and possibly brief tornadoes, especially across the foothills and piedmont regions, according to the NWS.
Around a half inch of rain is possible overnight.
On Friday, the sun will gradually return with a high near 65 degrees.
