HUNTERSVILLE, NC (WBTV) - This week's journey takes us to The McGuire Nuclear Plant's Energy Explorium.
The Explorium offers a hands on interactive display of nuclear demonstrations, energy exhibits and even a tour of McGuire Nuclear Station.
Kids of all ages can learn how the facility works and get a hands-on idea of just how electricity gets from the plant to their homes.
The Explorium has several different stations inside and a great outdoor area for picnics. The Nature Trail at the Explorium offers an outdoor learning experience on the shores of Lake Norman. Stations along the route teach about wildlife in the lake and in the woods.
The Energy Explorium is open Monday- Friday 9-5 and Saturday from Noon-5pm. The cost is free.
