his week, two new school board members were sworn in and board leadership was selected.
We hope this will bring about improvements longed for by many in the community…
and positive results our children deserve.
This board will tackle pressing issues that have plagued CMS for a long time.
The achievement gap is not closing fast enough...
The graduation rate is not where it should be…
And school safety is on the minds of many.
What kind of mark will THIS School Board make?
Will the new members offer creative and smart ideas to help solve the problems…or will it be status quo?
Will they deliver the transparency that was promised, or will they keep people in the dark?
We're coming off a year of unrest in the community, with controversial school closings and low teacher morale.
We think the school board needed some new life, a fresh approach and a diverse outlook.
Change can be good.
We're hoping THIS change will be one teachers, students, and parents can support.
One that will finally get the job done.
