5 die in motorcycle wrecks over 2 days in Charlotte area

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Five people were killed in motorcycle four separate wrecks this weekend throughout the Charlotte area.

The most recent wreck occurred Sunday night in Salisbury on Highway 29 near Airport Road. A car pulled into the path of the motorcycle killing both the driver and the female passenger. Roger Carriker, 39, and Heather Cross, 22, died at the scene. Click to read more about this story.

Two people were killed in Charlotte in separate wrecks Saturday night.

A woman was killed and her husband injured on Independence Boulevard after their motorcycle hit two cars that had stopped due to road maintenance. Click to read more about this story.

Also Saturday night, a man was killed after his motorcycle hit a pick-up truck on Mallard Creek Road. Sharaz Osman, 22, died at the scene. Click to read more about this story.

The fifth fatality occurred in Concord Saturday morning. John Beatty, 59, was riding his motorcycle on Davidson Highway when an elderly man crossed the center line striking Beatty's motorcycle. Click to read more about this story.
