SPENCER, NC (WBTV) - A section of Interstate 85, in Rowan County, will close Monday, August 1 to safely remove the existing NC Highway 150 bridge over the interstate.
The NCDOT has hired Flatiron Lane Joint Venture to conduct the project. Between midnight and 6 a.m., all southbound lanes will be closed between Clark Rd (exit 85) and N.C. Highway 150 (Exit 83).
Construction is being completed during the overnight hours to avoid any major traffic problems.
Motorists should use the posted detour which is as follows:
Take the Clark Road exit (Exit 85);
Turn right at the top of the exit ramp;
Turn left onto Old Salisbury Road;
Turn left onto the N.C. 150 on-ramp and follow it back to I-85 South.
