CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A brush fire burned about five acres of land in northeast Charlotte Monday afternoon.
The brush fire was reported around 4 p.m. in the 5200 block of Kodiak Way off Rocky River Road.
The fire spread so quickly, it was upgraded it to a second alarm to bring more firefighters to the scene.
According to the North Carolina Forestry Service, the fire was contained by 5 p.m. and no structures were burned. No one was injured while fighting the fire.
Forestry workers used a tractor to prevent the fire from spreading. The strong winds also posed a problem for firefighters.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
