CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – Police in Florida arrested a man with ties to Charlotte.
Weylin Rodriguez is accused of passing himself off as a modeling agent to women in Florida, then kidnapping those women and forcing them to work as prostitutes.
He and an accused accomplice are in an Orange County jail.
Rodriguez was charged in a 2009 prostitution sting in Charlotte. The sting involved Craigslist. More than a dozen people were arrested at the time, but Rodriguez was the only one named. At the time, he was charged with maintaining a place for prostitution, failing to register as a sex offender and being a habitual felon.
