SHELBY, NC (WBTV) - The sign outside the gas station makes drivers do a double take while headed down North Post Road in Shelby.
At Mike's the gas is $3.49 a gallon. Just a block down the road at Swifty, it's $3.49 a gallon.
"I think it's great," said one woman who drove from Cherryville when she heard about the cheap gas.
Both store owners say they're just keeping up with the competition which just so happens to be each other.
Customers filling up cars, gas cans, lawnmowers and whatever else would hold gas say they don't care if it's a gas war. They just like the cheap gas.
