MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Storm recovery jobs are beginning to show up in Alabama.
State Industrial Relations Director Tom Surtees says more than 250 jobs have been posted by 12 employers on Alabama's online job database ( http://www.joblink.alabama.gov).
The jobs include general laborers for cleanup, tire technicians to work on damaged tractor-trailer trucks, and equipment operators.
Surtees says his agency is also seeing hundreds of applications for unemployment benefits from people who worked for businesses that are shut down because of tornado damage. The director says he hopes the storm recovery jobs can be filled with Alabamians affected by the tornadoes.
