Barbara Martocci, a spokeswoman for the federal utility, said Monday afternoon that it anticipates restoring power to most of its customers this week and as early as later Monday or Tuesday.
Meanwhile, TVA's Browns Ferry nuclear power plant in north Alabama remains in "safe shutdown" while repairs are made to transmission lines in its area. Martocci said there is no estimate on a restart date.
