Track storms as severe weather approaches

Severe storms are moving into Charlotte region Wednesday afternoon and evening.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is now in effect for several counties and a Severe Thunderstorm Watch is also in place for many counties in the WBTV viewing area until 9 pm.

While the system may not spawn tornadoes, there is a chance of some damaging, severe weather: Hail to 3.5 inches in diameter, thunderstorms with wind gusts to 70 mph and dangerous lightning are possible, forecasters say.

Here are ways to track the storms and stay informed:

Also.. don't forget, you can send weather photos to WBTV – and we might show them on TV! (View photos from past storms)

Of course, you can get everything you need on our weather page.

You can also watch WBTV Channel 3 News from 4 to 7:30 pm today and tonight at 11 pm.

Always stay informed and be safe -- especially if you decide to take photos.
