CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Police and prosecutors are building a bigger case against 40-year-old Carl Walden, Junior.
Walden is accused of forcing a 14-year-old into his car at gunpoint outside a strip mall on Freedom Drive in January. Court records show the girl told police Walden touched her inappropriately, and that she escaped by jumping from his moving vehicle.
The girl told police Walden said he'd been watching her at bus stop, and that he would kill her family if she did not comply with his demands.
More charges were brought against Walden in another case where a young woman says he tried to rape her.
In court, prosecutor Kelly Miller called Walden a threat to the community. She said DNA test results are pending against another case where Walden could be charged with raping a 15-year-old girl. The girl told police a man wearing a ski mask attacked her in park on Rogers Street.
Walden's listed address is also on Rogers Street. Walden's attorney said the ski masks found in his home were work related. Police also say they found pornography tapes with titles like "brutal rape" when they searched his home. Inside a jacket pocket, police say they found a list of murder victims killed by Charlotte's serial killer, Henry Louis Wallace.
Miller said Walden's name came up in two more sexual assaults, one in 2006 and one in 2009, but charges were never filed against him because of a lack of evidence.
