Charlotte, NC (WBTV) - We're talking about the proposed Mint Hill Presbyterian Hospital.
Doug asked about this on our website, wbtv.com. He writes on our See, Click, Fix page, "This construction project was started in 2008, then placed on hold in 2009, with a promise to restart in 2010. Nothing is happening on site, nor has any mention been made to the news outlets."
We have video of the piece of land Presbyterian Hospital broke ground on in Mint Hill. That was all the way back in 2008. It's on Albemarle Rd. and I-485.
We put in some calls. The hospital called right back with the status of what's going on.
Officials say at the time they were preparing to build Mint Hill Presbyterian, they got approval to build two more hospitals and the expand their downtown location.
From there, they prioritized what needed to be done first.
They also realized they wanted to make Mint Hill Presbyterian more of a community hospital. So for the last couple years they've been in a "redesign" phase.
The hospital tells me they're putting the final touches on that redesign. It plans on continuing the building process 2011.
