CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) Dozens of people were lined up outside the Charlotte Bobcats team store today for a shot at getting a pair of the new Air Jordan retro's Cool Gray 11's
They are the remakes of the 2001 Jordan's featuring two kinds of Gray leather and the trademark jump man logo.
Shoppers brought faith, hope and most of all patience.
Norman Patton was hoping for a long shot pay off.
He said, "This is the last resort right here being a season ticket holder gave me an opportunity to get a pair."
Patton was the first to claim a pair of newest Nikes newest attraction.
He stood at the head of a long line at Time Warner Cable Arena along with selected season ticket holders who got the first chance to claim 100 pairs of the new shoes.
Kim Williams faces a tough decision.
"My nephew wants me to get them for him, but I don't know yet," Williams said.
More than 20 years ago, the shoe line was propelled into the stratosphere when Nike teamed up Filmmaker Spike Lee and Michael Jordan.
The popularity is so positive that some people will go to the extremes to find the desired footwear, and pay 175 dollars a pair.
Daron Cannon is adding to a collection. He owns more than one hundreds of Air Jordan's.
"I went to South Park at 3:30 sat outside." Cannon said, "They didn't have my size, and I came zooming over here."
Tony Montanino bought the shoes so he could connect with one of the greats of the game.
"It's always with MJ. He's the man. He's the guy. He's basketball in mind."
Basketball and footwear are remaining on the minds of many who may have to wait and find the right shoes after Christmas.
