Peppermint Bark

Makes Two Pounds


1 cup                           Candy canes, crushed

2 pounds                     White chocolate

2 pounds                     Dark Chocolate

1 Tablespoon               Peppermint extract

2 drops                        Green Food Coloring 

Method of Preparation:

  1. Wash hands and put on gloves before preparing ready to eat foods.
  2. Gather all ingredients and equipment.
  3. Place candy canes in a plastic bag and hammer into ΒΌ -inch chunks or smaller.
  4. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler. Combine candy cane chunks with chocolate (add peppermint flavoring at this point if desired.)
  5. Pour mixture onto a cookie sheet layered with parchment or waxed paper and place in the refrigerator for 45 minutes or until firm.
