Hounds4Heroes helping local veterans

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -  Army Veteran Jennifer Amidon picked up her fully repaired car on Central Avenue in Charlotte Thursday.

It's a donation from a local group that has helped her since she was discharged with severe depression and anxiety.

That same group introduced Jennifer to her best friend, her dog, Sissy.

Charlotte-based Hounds4Heroes pairs local veterans with dogs. The organization has two main goals; to find homes for homeless animals and save them from euthanasia, and to help those who have served their country with emotional rehabilitation through the companionship of a pet.

And as Jennifer Amidon can attest, Hounds4Heroes has helped her with much more.
