Cover Story: CMS plan and critics case

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Board of Education votes on a controversial plan to close schools and consolidate and relocate students.

There are vocal critics of the CMS plan.

They include civil rights attorney James Ferguson, a lawyer who helped bring about an end to segregation in Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools some 40 years ago.

The Swann vs. Board of Education case desegregated schools using busing.

There are some who call the new CMS plan a resegregation of our schools.

PrimeTime's Jeff Atkinson reports in our Cover Story.
