See, Click, Fix: Pavement lines will be redone in front of school

Charlotte, NC (WBTV) - On Belmeade Drive in front of Whitewater Academy in Charlotte everything looks fine until you have to drive down this road.

TR Smith wrote See, Click Fix online saying, "Whitewater Academy opened for school August of 2007 with only light paint for pavement markings. No re-painting of lines since."

The yellow and white lines, also the turn arrows, are faded and barely visible even during the day.

We made multiple attempts to get through to NCDOT and Charlotte DOT. And in the last 48 hours we got good news for the commuters who travel this stretch.

We're told the developer, Crosland, is in the process of widening the roadway and adding a left-turn lane and asphalt overlay.

Charlotte DOT told us in an email:

"...Crosland, has agreed to provide new 'temporary' pavement markings within the next week, weather permitting, to correct this intersection's faded pavement markings...After the roadway is overlaid, 'permanent' pavement markings will be installed to complete the widening project."
