RIVER BEND, N.C. (AP) - A landscaper has lost a hand and a foot after getting caught in a wood chipper in Craven County.
River Bend police told WITN-TV that the incident occurred Thursday morning as the man was doing work for Ryalcor landscaping company in a homeowner's yard.
Police say the 57-year-old man's hand and foot were amputated by the machine. He was transported by ambulance to CarolinaEast Medical Center and then airlifted to Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
Police say the property owner was not at home at the time of the incident.
