CONCORD, NC (WBTV) - Big announcement out of Charlotte Motor Speedway on Thursday, September 16.
The track will host "Carolina Christmas."
Governor Beverly Perdue and CMS President Marcus Smith gave it the green flag. A two and a half mile drive through Christmas display on the speedway and infield.
$20 a car to see 500 displays. And organizers say it's going to be like the weather in December - cool -- they're calling it one of the largest Christmas lights display in the country.

According to Gaston County Communications, the wreck happened on Dallas Cherryville Highway at Mauney Road near Prices Arena.More >>

Raymond Lawrence Johnson, 67, was last seen on the 5200 block of Monroe Road in southeast Charlotte. Officials said Johnson is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.More >>
