CHESTER, SC (WBTV) - Sheriff's deputies have charged a Chester man with the murder of a man who died last Wednesday after he was shot multiple times.
The shooting happened around 9 p.m. on September 8th near the railroad tracks at the intersection of York Road and Parkway Drive.
When deputies arrived, they found the victim, Faris Terrell Wray, 24, lying on his stomach and he had been shot several times.
Wray was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center and died at the hospital.
He would have turned 25 years old on Thursday.
Late Monday afternoon, the sheriff's office served an arrest warrant against J.C. Bowler in connection with Wray's murder.
Bowler was already being held at the Chester County Detention Center on an unrelated charge. As of Tuesday morning, Bowler was being held without bond.
