CONCORD, NC (WBTV) - Water levels finally begin to recede in the area after massive summer storms forced road closures in Concord Thursday afternoon.
North Carolina Department of Transportation workers were out before dawn Friday morning checking water levels on area creeks, and pulling barricades off of roadways.
Because of massive storms that hit our area Thursday, creek levels rose, flooding residential roads on low-laying areas such as Stough Road in Concord.
While crews were able to open the road around 2:00 in the morning, neighbors will still have to deal with flooded out yards, and debris which washed it's way down the creek.
DOT workers said the only other reports of current road closures was in the Mouth Pleasant area, everything else is open.
