CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – In a good economy, it is tough for even the best-known charities to survive.  Right now, it's a daily struggle.

With one in five Americans facing some sort of disability, most of us have heard of Easter Seals.

But young Rich Worrell and his family are on a mission to show what Easter Seals has done for them – and the ripple effects impacting the Charlotte community.

Friday on WBTV News 3 at 5:30 p.m., we'll take a look at how lives are changed, one step at a time.

And if you'd like to help Easter Seals UCP meet its $1 million budget shortfall in the Charlotte area, you've got two upcoming opportunities.

Crider's Photography in Statesville is sponsoring an "Angels of Faith" event.  It's going on now.  And the Easter Seals UCP Charlotte "Walk with Me" event is coming up October 16.
