Honor system alive and well

By Kristen Hampton - bio l email

GASTON CO., NC (WBTV) - If you've ever wondered whether there are good people left in the world, just ask Albert St. Laurent.

The Dallas man leaves a table full of producer outside his house with an old margarine container to leave money in. The only instruction for customers is a sign that reads "Honor System".

"Most people will actually cheat themselves. So that they don't cheat me, they leave a little extra money". St. Laurent said.

The honor system has worked like a charm for St. Laurent. He says he's made a lot more money than he's lost to crooks.

It goes to show the power of honest people, to make a heart warm.
