HUNTERSVILLE, NC (WBTV) - Police are investigating a string of home break-ins which occurred in Huntersville earlier this week.

Four break-ins happened Monday between 8 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. along the 7000 block of Hambright Road.  A fifth home located in the 12000 block of New Bond Road was also broken into.

The burglar entered all five homes by forcing open a door or window.  No one was present when the homes were broken into.

The burglar stole flat screen televisions, laptop computers, jewelry and a .38 caliber handgun.

A black Ford pickup truck was seen in the area where the each of the break-ins occurred.

Police say residents could make their homes more difficult for thieves by securing all doors and windows, and making sure all valuable items cannot be seen through windows.

If you know anything about the burglaries, call the Huntersville Police Department at 704-875-6542.
