CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - How do you get somewhere if you can't find the place?
That's a question a viewer brought up on See, Click, Fix, saying there's no street sign for the street where she lives. The viewer lives on Mayfield Terrace Drive in northwest Charlotte. As many as 70 people live along the street in the Nia Point Apartments.
But if you plan on visiting any of them, get good directions.
There are no street signs for Mayfield Terrace Drive. That prompted a viewer to write See, Click, Fix: "...need the street sign to be put in place immediately for emergency services to find our location."
So we contacted the city and asked why there were no signs here. As it turns out, Mayfield Terrace Drive is a private street and therefore the city doesn't maintain the street or provide signage.
We asked the apartment complex management about putting up signs and we were told they can't do anything right now due to budget issues.
But we're going to get this fixed.
As we were making inquiries about this story, an anonymous donor stepped forward and said they would pay to have two signs made that the apartment complex can use at each of the intersections to Mayfield Terrace Drive off Pitts Drive.
As soon as they're ready, we'll be there when they're installed.
