CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) The case this week where a 3rd grader brought a loaded gun to school has raised the issue of access to weapons and overall gun safety.
Organizers at the NRA Convention stressed the importance of passing down gun safety information to children today.
Some gun manufacturers showed us how they added new safety features to their guns, but say safety starts before a weapon is even handled.
On the other side of the street, protesters from the Baptist peace fellowship of North America held a peaceful forum, raising their concerns on gun safety, especially with children in the home and what they call loopholes in the current gun laws.
They say they would like to have dialogue with NRA officials to discuss these concerns.
