Lucky lotto winner scratches big money

MOORESVILLE, NC (WBTV) - From unemployed to millionaire with one fell swoop of a penny. Lacretta Vanderburg knew she'd win something by scratching off the $10 Cash Spectacular ticket, she just didn't imagine she'd hit the jackpot prize of 1 million dollars.

Vanderburg accepted her oversized lottery check while standing in front of the same store in Mooresville where she bought the ticket.

She says the last year and a half have been hard since losing her job. Her unemployment benefits ran out last summer.

With family cheering and screaming her name, Vanderburg told TV cameras and reporters she'd but a house for her kids with the 20 yearly installments of $34,000.

Family members said it couldn't have happened to a better person.
