CONCORD, NC (WBTV) - Imagine going to a NASCAR race and not hearing a sound. Or imagine you can't hear birds chirping or the wind blowing.
For 75 people at Charlotte Motor Speedway, hearing is something they struggle to do.
Thanks to The Starkey Foundation, Speedway Children's Charities, and the National Rifle Association, 75 people now have a new way to hear better.
The group was fitted for new and better hearing aids Monday morning at the speedway. Many couldn't afford the expensive equipment, so all of the new hearing aids are free of charge.
The only payment required was a smile.
