FILBERT, SC (WBTV) - If you travel to the western end of York County, you can't miss the acres and acres of peach trees bursting with buds.
You also can't miss the peach farmers with fingers crossed and hands folded in prayer, hoping the peach-friendly weather holds.
The mild temperatures have provided a perfect place for peaches to prosper. Blooms are well on their way for an early harvest.
Previous years have provided some heartbreak for peach farmers in the form of late freezes. The tender buds can't withstand the cold.
This year though, farmers are hopeful the weather will remain on the warmer side and produce plenty of the summertime-favorite crop.
