CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - The Metro Transit commission on Monday approved putting advertising for the Bobcats on all Lynx trains in the city as a pilot project to see if the concept works.
The campaign – which will coincide with the Bobcats' appearance in the NBA playoffs -- will start this week and last for two weeks.
The ads will raise $30,000 in revenue – and will be image wraps of both sides of all 16 Lynx trains.
Officials said that this is a pilot project to see how advertising on buses and trains goes for the future. The city has prohibition on the trains or buses, so this is an exception to the rule.
