CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Children can often reveal too much information about themselves on Facebook and other social networking sites.

They sometimes disclose where they are going on Spring Break and how long they will be gone.  This is precisely the kind of information cyber creeps are hoping to find.

One of the top scams right now involves criminals preying on grandparents by using the information in which their grandchildren broadcast to their "friends" online.

Former White House Cyber Expert Theresa Payton will explain Thursday at 5 p.m. how the creeps are getting this information, what they do with it, and how it left one older couple out $19,000.
