(The following is from Verizon Wireless.)

CHARLOTTE, NC - Verizon Wireless is hiring more than 100 full-time customer service representatives for its Charlotte call center through the remainder of this year, having already hired 15 in the fourth quarter of '09, and another 33 so far this year.  The company is looking for experienced customer service professionals who are eager to build a career with the nation's leading wireless provider.  Applications are currently being reviewed for the company's next training class which begins on May 13.  Those interested in career opportunities can visit the company's website <>, and select "Search Careers."

Customer service representatives answer billing and technical questions, troubleshoot customer issues, conduct price plan changes and provide general customer support.  Job requirements include one year of customer service experience, and strong computer, communication, and problem-solving skills.  A college degree is highly desirable.

"Our customer service team helps us deliver on our commitment to provide an exceptional experience for our customers," said Call Center Director Chris Arnold. "We have the room to grow here in our Matthews Call Center, and we are looking for people who are passionate about serving customers, love technology and like to work in a fast-paced environment," he added.

Verizon Wireless is the industry lead in customer loyalty. For 20 of the past 21 quarters, the company has reported the lowest churn (customer turnover) rate among the nation's largest wireless carriers.  The company consistently wins industry awards and accolades for its customer service and network performance, which both contribute significantly to customer satisfaction and loyalty.

The new positions offer competitive salaries and benefits, including health care coverage that begins on the first day of employment, participation in the company's 401(k) program with dollar for dollar match up to six percent of employee salary contributions, profit sharing, tuition reimbursement, annual bonuses, and adoption assistance.  Employees can also take advantage of numerous opportunities for career advancement.

Verizon Wireless has also been named to Training magazine's list of Top 125 Training Organizations in America for six years in a row for its training and development programs. Last year the company was the highest ranked wireless carrier on the list, placing No. 4.  (I need to check this)

Employees participate in a comprehensive, ongoing training program that lasts four to six weeks, depending on the specific role of the employee, with the goal of each customer service employee completing six to eight hours of additional training every month.
