Tonight's Cover Story: Funding NC's Highways

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A new report out today finds North Carolina needs to better fund its road and bridge system.

A Washington-based nonprofit transportation research group known as TRIP released a report this morning that says the state faces a $65 billion transportation funding shortfall over the next 20 years.

TRIP's report also contains lists of needed road, bridge and transit projects in the Charlotte area and throughout the state that cannot be addressed without additional transportation funding.

Today, PrimeTime's Jeff Atkinson is looking into the report and who are the winners and losers in the state.  Join us at 7pm.
