CONCORD, NC (WBTV) - When he shakes hands and introduces himself, he gets a lot of smiles. It goes without saying, a guy with the name of Texas Nation comes with a big personality.
19 year-old Texas has been suffering from Cystic Fibrosis his whole life. But Friday afternoon at Z-Max dragway, his sickness took a back seat to a 900 horsepower dragster.
Texas was invited by the good people at Z-Max to come out to the Roy Hill School of Drag Racing and feel the tremendous force of a dragster.
He suited up with a handheld camera in hand and hit the fast lane for the ride of his life.
After his brief run on the drag strip, Texas said the feeling was indescribable. His sickness had taken his breath, but for a ride like that, he gladly gave it.
He'll be back on March 27th for the 4-wide racing at Z-Max, this time with a whole new perspective.
