CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - In North Carolina it's against the law to text while you drive.
Still, many people are finding it hard to break this dangerous habit.
Several companies have sprouted up with cell phone applications available for download which deter texting while driving. Some use GPS to sense when your car is moving and then disable the ability to text and drive altogether.
Others work like an out-of-office email response, and as soon as you activate the program it sends an automatic reply to anyone who texts you that you are driving and currently unable to respond.
Tonight at 5pm, Consumer Reporter Kristen Miranda shows us how some of these programs work and explains just how much each one will cost you to use.
