CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Police have arrested a man in connection with a murder which happened in a grocery store parking lot in northwest Charlotte last month.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department arrested Ralpheal Levatt, 38, late Tuesday night on Springway Drive.

Police say he shot and killed 41-year-old Feeon Jerral Wimbish on Wednesday, Feb. 10 in the parking lot outside the Food Lion grocery store on Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road.

According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, several people who were in the parking lot witnessed the shooting.

Police said Levatt got in Wimbish's van before the shooting occurred.  Levatt and Wimbish knew each other, and had arranged to meet at the parking lot, police said.

Wimbish's clothes could be seen lying on the ground where paramedics cut them off.  He was transported to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte where he later died.

If you know anything about the shooting, call 704-332-TIPS or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
