Good News: Soldiers home safe

LINCOLNTON, NC (WBTV) - Dozens of soldiers from the Army National Guard arrived home Tuesday after 10 months in Iraq.

Two busses emptied into a parking lot on North Aspen Street. Hundreds of hugs happened in just minutes.

The unit spent time in Iraq training Iraqi soldiers and police forces. The mission began last April and lasted until last week when the soldiers returned to Fort Stewart, Georgia for a week of briefing.

Most said they had no words to describe the feeling of being back home in North Carolina. Hugs seemed to take care of any descriptions. Click the video icon to see the story.
