Good News: Relief efforts bring unity

By Kristen Hampton - bio l email

SHELBY, NC (WBTV) - Donations are coming from all over the world. People see people hurting and they want to help.

Joe Lawrence is one of those people. He owns Joe's Place Bar and Grill in Uptown Shelby and is donating 10% of all Friday and Saturday food sales to the Red Cross.

Lawrence has also set up a donation box in the front of his restaurant. Joe says his heart hurts when he sees the images of Haiti on TV.

Joe hopes to raise a lot of money, but more so, to show the thousands of hurting people in Haiti, that other people care.
