House fire on colony road

CHARLOTTE, NC  (WBTV) - A house off of Colony Road caught on fire around 6:30 this morning.

The fire so huge that many of the neighbors were worried that the flames would cause damage to their homes.  Its believe that the fire could have started in the back of the house. Charlotte Fire Department was able to save the house.

No one was in the house at the time of the fire.  CFD were able to rescue a dog which suffered some burns.

Neighbors say the home was for sale and the last time the county did its last assessed, the value of the home was more than 362 thousand dollars.

CFD firefighters have not release any information on the cause.
